Governor and Chief Minister Extend Lohri Greetings to People of the State.

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Lohri and Makar Sankranti, wishing them happiness, prosperity and good health.

In his felicitation message, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that festivals like Lohri and Makar Sankranti bring joy and prosperity into the lives of people. He expressed hope that the sacred fire of Lohri would burn away all evils and usher in happiness, peace and good health for everyone. The Governor emphasized that such traditional festivals strengthen social harmony and reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in his message, extended heartfelt greetings to all residents of the state, with special wishes for destitute children, women and the elderly. He said that the initiative taken by the state government to provide festival allowance to them would help bring smiles to their faces and make their Lohri celebrations more meaningful.

The Chief Minister noted that festivals like Lohri provide an opportunity for people to come together, share joy with family and friends, and reinforce the spirit of brotherhood and fraternity in society. He further said that these festivals symbolize joy and prosperity brought by a fresh harvest and highlight the importance of agriculture in the lives of the people.

Both the Governor and the Chief Minister expressed hope that the festive spirit would strengthen unity, harmony and mutual goodwill across the state.
