The 12th Pre-Teen, Sub-Junior, and Junior National Pencak Silat Martial Arts Championship, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Pencak Silat Association under the aegis of the Indian Pencak Silat Federation, was held from November 16 to 18 at the Sher Kashmir Indoor Stadium in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.

A 22-member team from Himachal Pradesh, comprising 12 boys and 10 girls, participated in the competition, excelling in the Tendang (Fight) event across various weight categories. The team brought home 2 silver and 10 bronze medals, bringing pride to the state.

In the girls’ category, Keerat Kamal Kaur from Mandi district won a bronze medal in the Sub-Junior 36 kg weight class, while Diksha secured a bronze in the 39 kg category. Ragini Devi from Kangra district bagged a silver medal in the Pre-Teen 38 kg weight class, and Preksha won a bronze in the 60 kg category.

From Bilaspur, Sakshi Thakur earned a silver in the Sub-Junior 51 kg category, and Sheran Sen won a bronze in the 42 kg category.

In the boys’ category, Arsh Vaidya from Mandi district won a bronze in the Pre-Teen 34 kg class, while Rachit earned a bronze in the 46 kg category. Arnav Kumar, also from Mandi, won a bronze in the Sub-Junior 39 kg class. Avinash Kaudnal from Kangra won a bronze in the Pre-Teen 54 kg category, and Samvir Singh Rohila from Sirmaur earned a bronze in the Junior 79 kg class. Finally, Saransh from Bilaspur won a bronze in the Junior 47 kg weight class.

The state team was coached by Rakesh Kumar (Men’s Coach) from Mandi, Neha (Women’s Coach) from Kangra, and Ajay Kumar (Team Manager) from Kangra. Refereeing duties were performed by Rohin and Devgay from Mandi.

The Himachal Pradesh Pencak Silat Association officials, including President Joginder Singh Azad, Chairman H.D. Panchani, General Secretary Mohammad Javed, Vice Presidents Surender Kumar, Brij Lal Chauhan, Treasurer Banita Kumari, Joint Secretary Sher Singh Chauhan, and Executive Members Devgay, Rohin, and Narender Kumar, congratulated all the medal winners for their exceptional performance.
