In a significant achievement for digital governance, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that 99.84% of family members have been successfully verified on the state’s E-Parivar platform. Out of a total of 75,18,296 family members, 75,05,913 have now been verified under the initiative, marking a major step toward streamlining administrative processes at the grassroots level.

Launched with the aim of managing family records at the Gram Panchayat level, E-Parivar is an online platform where Panchayat Secretaries are given secure access to update and enter family data within their respective panchayats. This initiative, made mandatory from April 27, 2024, has seen a remarkable level of adoption across the state, with significant progress in data accuracy and efficiency.

Speaking about the development, CM Sukhu emphasized that E-Parivar represents a crucial move towards digitizing family records, not only allowing for the seamless addition of new families but also enabling quick updates to existing data. As part of the ongoing improvements, the mapping of family details with ration cards is currently underway to further enhance the delivery of essential services.

“E-Parivar is also helping to digitize other important services such as issuing Parivar Nakal, marriage certificates, and BPL certificates, which can now be accessed through the E-Parivar and E-District portals,” said the Chief Minister. He reiterated the government’s commitment to integrating modern technology across all departments to improve transparency, governance efficiency, and service delivery.

The state government aims to reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies by minimizing paperwork and streamlining processes, ensuring that government services reach citizens more effectively. According to Sukhu, the E-Parivar initiative is a testament to Himachal Pradesh’s vision of becoming a digitally empowered state, where governance is more accessible and citizen-centric.

By leveraging technology to create a more transparent and efficient system, the Chief Minister believes that the initiative will significantly save time, resources, and effort, bringing government services directly to the doorstep of citizens.
