Mandi is gearing up for its much-anticipated International Shivaratri Fair, set to take place from February 27 to March 5, 2025. This weeklong event will blend Mandi’s rich cultural traditions with international participation, drawing visitors from around the world to the picturesque town.

The festival will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who will officially kick off the celebrations. The event will feature participation from 216 local deities, some of whom have already arrived in Mandi, adding to the excitement. Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan assured that all arrangements are in place for a successful event, emphasizing the importance of the festival in showcasing the region’s deity culture and traditions.

A major highlight of the fair will be the International Cultural Parade, which will include performances from participants representing countries such as Malaysia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, and Sri Lanka. The parade will offer a colorful display of global cultural diversity, reinforcing the theme of unity and shared heritage.

 

Each evening of the fair will feature cultural performances, with the first evening on February 27 showcasing renowned artists such as Neha Dixit (Indian Idol fame), Lakhwinder Wadali, and various international groups. Other performances throughout the week will include national and international artists, celebrating a variety of music, dance, and folk traditions.

The festivities will begin with the Beas Aarti at the Panchvaktra Temple on February 26, marking the spiritual start of the fair. The week will also feature performances by popular artists like Diksha Toor, Kulwinder Billa, Amika Shail, and more, culminating in the “Voice of Shivratri” performance on March 4.

To ensure the safety and smooth functioning of the event, the local administration has deployed additional security. The festival will conclude with a special ceremony attended by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

The International Shivaratri Fair promises to be a vibrant celebration, combining spiritual reflection, cultural exchange, and entertainment for visitors from all over the world.
