President of India conferred Bharat Ratna Awards to former Deputy PM LK Advani and four others.

The President of India, Droupadi Murmu today presented Bharat Ratna to five eminent personalities, including two former Prime Ministers at an Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
The country’s highest civilian honour was awarded to former prime ministers P V Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh, agriculture scientist M S Swaminathan and two-time former Bihar chief minister Karpoori Thakur, posthumously at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
President Murmu conferred Bharat Ratna to former PM P. V. Narasimha Rao posthumously. On behalf of the late P. V. Narasimha Rao, Bharat Ratna was received by P.V. Prabhakar Rao, his son.
She conferred Bharat Ratna award to former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh posthumously. On behalf of the late Chaudhary Charan Singh, Bharat Ratna was received by Jayant Chaudhary, his grandson.
Agriculture scientist Dr. M.S. Swaminathan was given posthumously. On behalf of the late Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, Bharat Ratna was received by Dr. Nitya Rao, his daughter.
Two-time former Bihar chief minister Karpoori Thakur was given posthumously. On behalf of the late Karpoori Thakur, Bharat Ratna was received by Ramnath Thakur, his son.
The honour to BJP veteran LK Advani will be conferred at his residence.
Among various dignitaries, vice president Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ceremony. This year government announced five Bharat Ratna awards, including one for BJP stalwart and former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani.
