Keylong Gears Up for Grand State-Level Tribal Festival from August 14–16, Focus on Local Talent and Cultural Heritage.

The scenic town of Keylong in tribal district of Himachal Pradesh is all set to host the State-Level Tribal Festival from August 14 to 16, promising a vibrant showcase of the region’s cultural richness and indigenous talent. This year, the festival will highlight the fusion of tradition and talent, placing a special focus on local folk artists and cultural performers.
Lahaul and Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana announced that residents and visitors will have the unique opportunity to witness performances by both renowned national-level artists and talented local performers from Lahaul and Spiti. “This festival offers a golden opportunity to hear and see our own artists perform alongside distinguished guests. It will be a true celebration of our heritage,” she said.
Rana emphasized that in addition to the Keylong Tribal Festival, similar preferences for local talent will be applied during the Pori Mela in Trilokinath and the Ladarcha Festival in Kaza, which are also key cultural events in the district. District and sub-divisional administrations have been directed to give priority to local artists, provided they submit their applications within the stipulated timeframe.
In preparation for the festival, Rana stressed the importance of safety and preparedness. The disaster management team has been instructed to remain on full alert to tackle any emergency situations that may arise during the event. Organizers have been directed to ensure there are no lapses in security or logistical arrangements.
“These festivals are not only a celebration of our rich tribal culture but also serve as platforms for youth to showcase their talents. When paired with alert administrative coordination, we can ensure the success and safety of such grand events,” she added.
With anticipation building across the district, Keylong is preparing to host a festival that promises to be a spectacle of heritage, music, dance, and community pride — keeping traditions alive while paving the way for the next generation of cultural ambassadors.
