State President of Computer Teachers’ Association Meets CM Sukhu, Seeks Regularization of Long-Serving Teachers.

Suman Thakur, the State President of the Himachal Pradesh Computer Teachers’ Association, met Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at his official residence Oakover on Tuesday evening. During the meeting, she apprised the Chief Minister of the long-standing demands of the association, especially regarding the regularization of computer teachers working in government schools across the state.

Suman Thakur highlighted that 1,302 computer teachers have been serving in various government schools for nearly 25 years, many of whom continue to work under contractual or outsourced arrangements. She requested the Chief Minister to take concrete steps to regularize their services, ensuring job security and fair treatment for these educators who have been instrumental in promoting computer literacy among students.

Responding to the delegation’s appeal, Chief Minister Sukhu assured that the State Government would sympathetically consider their genuine demands. He acknowledged the vital role played by computer teachers in shaping digital education and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to supporting the teaching community.

The meeting marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts of the Computer Teachers’ Association to seek recognition and stability for its members, who have been integral to the State’s digital education initiatives for over two decades.
