Jogindernagar MLA Prakash Rana Raises Delay in Release of MLA Funds in Himachal Vidhan Sabha.

Shimla:

Jogindernagar MLA Prakash Rana on Friday raised the issue of the non-release of Vidhayak Nidhi (MLA Local Area Development Fund) in the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, stating that the funds have not been disbursed for the past several months, causing difficulties for legislators across the state.

Participating in the discussion during the ongoing session in Shimla, Rana said that MLAs generally utilize their allocated funds to carry out small but essential development works in their respective constituencies. These include repairs of local roads, installation of street lights, community infrastructure improvements, and other urgent public welfare projects.

He pointed out that the delay in releasing the funds has placed MLAs in an awkward situation, as they are unable to respond effectively to the immediate development needs of their constituencies. Despite provisions having been made in the state budget, the funds have reportedly not been released.

Rana urged Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to clarify the government’s stand on the matter and explain the reasons behind the delay. Several other MLAs extended their support, demanding early resolution of the issue.
