“Work, Not Rhetoric, Defines Leadership”: Rakesh Jamwal Targets Himachal Government.
Shimla:
BJP chief spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal launched a sharp attack on the Himachal Pradesh government, accusing it of indulging in “tokenism and false propaganda” after over three years in power. Referring to a recent public outreach event in Nihri (Sundernagar) led by PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Jamwal claimed the government was attempting to pacify public anger through “staged interactions.”
He alleged administrative inefficiency, stating that even cabinet ministers face delays with files pending for months. According to him, the government has lost its moral authority to speak about development, while the state struggles with financial instability. Jamwal also criticized Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for frequently citing a lack of funds despite pre-election promises.
Highlighting welfare concerns, he claimed key schemes like Himcare have been weakened, free electricity benefits curtailed, and financial assistance promises to women remain unfulfilled. He further accused the government of neglecting infrastructure, particularly roads.
Responding to remarks against former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jamwal termed such statements as “arrogant and immature,” asserting that leadership is judged by performance, not statements.
