Ex-Servicemen Leader Subedar Raju Ram Chauhan Passes Away During Function Near Sarkaghat in Mandi.

In a tragic incident, 66-year-old Subedar (Retd.) Raju Ram Chauhan, President of the United Front of Ex-Servicemen (JCOs and OR), Himachal Pradesh, Sarkaghat Unit, passed away after suffering a heart attack during an ex-servicemen function held at his native village Clot under Sarkaghat subdivision of Mandi district on Sunday afternoon.
A resident of Village Clot, in Sarkaghat subdivision, Subedar Chauhan had gathered with fellow ex-servicemen for a local function when he suddenly complained of uneasiness and collapsed. He was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital Sarkaghat, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Subedar Raju Ram Chauhan had served in the Indian Army for 28 years with a distinguished record before retiring in 2009. After retirement, he actively dedicated himself to the welfare of ex-servicemen and played a key role in raising their issues at various platforms.
As President of the United Front of Ex-Servicemen in Sarkaghat, he led several delegations to Mandi and also participated in protests and representations at Jantar Mantar and Ramleela Ground in Delhi, advocating for the rights and welfare of veterans.
His sudden demise has left the ex-servicemen community and the local area in deep shock. Several prominent members of the fraternity, including Capt. Jagdish Verma (Retd.), Capt. Rattan Chand, Subedar Rakesh Kumar, Havildar Ajay Kumar, Naib Subedar Amrit Lal, Subedar Major Vidyasagar, and Sub Kuldeep Singh, expressed profound grief over his passing. They stated that his loss is irreparable and that he will always be remembered for his dedication and service to the nation and the veteran community.
Further formalities are underway, and his last rites are expected to be performed with due respect.
