CM Presides Over Grand Finale of International Minjar Fair, Reaffirms Commitment to Chamba’s Development.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday evening presided over the concluding cultural night of the International Minjar Fair at the historic Chamba Chowgan, extending his greetings and best wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to the comprehensive development of Chamba district, stating that road connectivity remained one of its top priorities. He said that an amount of Rs. 591 crore had been spent on the construction, widening and upgradation of roads in the district, aimed at improving connectivity and boosting socio-economic development. He assured that every region of Chamba district would continue to receive focused attention to ensure balanced and inclusive growth.
Highlighting the government’s efforts to strengthen the healthcare sector, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College had been established in Chamba to ensure that residents no longer needed to travel outside the district for specialised medical treatment. He said the government had placed special emphasis on equipping the institution with modern medical infrastructure and advanced healthcare technology.
The Chief Minister informed that a 200-bedded hospital building, constructed at a cost of Rs. 158 crore, would significantly improve healthcare services in the district. The new facility, he said, would not only enhance patient care but also provide better working and learning environments for doctors, nursing staff, medical students and other healthcare professionals. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring quality medical services for the people of the state.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister distributed prizes to winners of various competitions organised during the International Minjar Fair and also released a souvenir published by the district administration to commemorate the event.
A major highlight of the evening was the announcement of Nandani from Chamba district as the Miss Minjar Queen, drawing applause from the audience.
The concluding cultural programme witnessed a massive turnout, with renowned Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal captivating the packed audience at Chamba Chowgan through an energetic and entertaining performance, bringing the celebrations to a memorable close.
Among those present on the occasion were Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Board Bhawani Singh Pathania, MLAs Neeraj Nayyar and Hardeep Singh Bawa, former Ministers Asha Kumari and Thakur Singh Bharmouri, APMC Chamba Chairman Lalit Thakur, District Congress Committee Chamba President Surjeet Bharmouri, Congress leaders Yashwant Khanna and Amit Bharmouri, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal, Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Saklani, along with several other dignitaries.
