JNV Pandoh Alumni Association Boosts Student Aid, Expands Annual Alumni Meet to Two Days.

The Alumni Association of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Pandoh has announced a series of landmark decisions aimed at strengthening student welfare, enhancing member support, and expanding alumni engagement. The resolutions were unanimously approved during an important meeting held on the school campus in the presence of Principal Manoj Bhatnagar.
The meeting was chaired by Senior Vice President Dr. Abhilasha, while Joint Secretary Flying Officer Prof. Dr. Chaman Lal Kranti Singh and Dr. Abhilasha welcomed the Principal by presenting him with a traditional Himachali shawl and cap, extending their best wishes for a successful tenure.
A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a cheque of Rs. 30,000 to alumnus Anshul to support his college tuition fee for higher education. The Alumni Association also sanctioned hostel assistance of Rs. 5,000 per month for six months to help him continue his studies without financial hardship. General Secretary Sachin Thakur said the Association remains committed to ensuring that no deserving and talented student is forced to discontinue education due to financial constraints. He added that similar assistance would continue to be extended to meritorious students requiring financial support.
In another significant decision, the Association approved an amendment to its Constitution to increase financial assistance for members facing emergencies. The relief amount for accidental death, serious accidents, or other unforeseen circumstances has been raised from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 25,000. Members described the decision as a major step toward reinforcing the Association’s commitment to social responsibility, compassion, and mutual support among its members.
The meeting also approved a proposal to transform the Annual Alumni Meet into a two-day event, replacing the existing one-day format. The school administration has granted in-principle approval for the initiative. Under the proposed schedule, the first day will feature the arrival of alumni and their families, followed by a cultural evening comprising performances by a renowned band, alumni cultural presentations, music, dance, a jazz session, and the traditional Himachali Dham.
The second day will focus on student engagement through cultural programmes, motivational mentoring sessions, interactive discussions between alumni and students, and experience-sharing events designed to inspire current students and strengthen alumni connections with the institution.
Another important resolution assigned responsibility for organizing the Annual Alumni Meet to the Silver Jubilee Batch each year. Accordingly, the 2001 pass-out batch, celebrating its Silver Jubilee in 2026, will lead preparations for the upcoming event.
The Association also expressed confidence that future alumni gatherings would become even more prestigious after the completion of the school’s under-construction Multipurpose Hall, enabling the event to grow into a nationally recognized alumni celebration.
The meeting concluded with a decision to hold both online and offline planning sessions to finalize the roadmap for upcoming programmes. The Association appealed to all alumni to actively contribute ideas and voluntarily support the welfare fund to strengthen student-centric initiatives and expand its social service activities in the years ahead.
