DG RPF Manoj Yadava Leads Tribute to Police Martyrs at Hot Springs Memorial in Ladakh.

Manoj Yadava, Director General of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), made history by leading a delegation to pay homage at the Hot Springs Memorial in Ladakh on September 3, 2024. This visit marked the first time a DG of RPF has led the tribute, honoring the 1,011 RPF personnel who have sacrificed their lives since the force’s inception in 1958.

Accompanied by a 28-member delegation comprising officers from various State Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), including N. Prakash Reddy, DIG of Telangana Police, and Raja Banthia, DCP/EOW of Delhi Police, Yadava paid respects at the revered site. The memorial, located at 15,400 feet above sea level near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh, is a solemn site dedicated to the ten CRPF officers who died defending the nation on October 21, 1959.

The ceremony, which began in 1960, remains a significant annual tradition for Indian police forces. During the visit, the delegation met Mr. Sonam Dorjey, an 86-year-old veteran who bravely resisted Chinese troops during the 1959 conflict and was captured.Yadava’s pilgrimage not only honored the memory of the fallen but also emphasized the unity and solidarity among the diverse police forces of India. His participation underscored the RPF’s enduring commitment to the values of duty and sacrifice exemplified by the brave officers of 1959.

The visit served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by police personnel and highlighted the enduring spirit of valor and commitment within the Indian law enforcement community.
