The Shilha Kipar fair, a longstanding celebration of local culture, took place at NELA in Mandi district yesterday, marking over 60 years of tradition. The event draws regional deities to the Ghughata Temple, where local residents greet them before they proceed to the Dev Bhandar in Shilha Kapar for a ceremonial village procession.

Evening festivities featured cultural programs that highlighted community issues, performed by local artists in the traditional BANTHDDA style. Residents of all ages, from children to the elderly, came together, embodying the fair’s spirit of unity.

Rajender Mohan, Councillor of Mandi Municipal Corporation, emphasized the event’s role in preserving cultural heritage for future generations and strengthening community bonds. The fair committee has also received a grant of Rs. 21,000 from the Municipal Corporation of Mandi to further support this cherished cultural event.
