In a proud moment for the Mandi and Kullu regions, seven exceptional National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets have been selected to represent the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh Directorate at the prestigious National Republic Day Camp (NRDC) 2025 in Delhi. This remarkable achievement highlights the exceptional talent and discipline of the NCC cadets from the region.

Flying Officer Dr. Chaman, Associate NCC Officer of the Air Squadron NCC, Kullu, announced that four cadets from Vallabh Government College, Mandi, two cadets from Kullu College, and one cadet from DAV Centenary Public School, Mandi, have been chosen for this prestigious event. The selection is particularly significant as it includes five cadets from Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron, Kullu—marking a record for the region. Additionally, the selection of four cadets from Vallabh Government College, Mandi, for the National Republic Day Camp is a historic first for the institution, making it a source of immense pride for both the college and the state.

Among the notable achievements, Cadet Sergeant Tejaswini Singh, a Class 10 student from DAV Centenary Public School, Jawahar Nagar, Mandi, has been selected as the only cadet in the “Best Cadet” category (Junior Wing) for the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh Directorate. She will represent the Directorate in this esteemed category at the NRDC, a distinction that underscores her outstanding commitment to excellence.

The cadets from Vallabh Government College, Mandi, who will be representing the Directorate at the National Republic Day Camp 2025 include:

This marks an unprecedented milestone in the college’s history, as four cadets from the institution have been selected in a single year.

In a remarkable development, Cadet Corporal Diksha Kumari, one of the selected cadets from Vallabh Government College, has been appointed as the Guard Commander for the All-India NCC Girls Guard Contingent. She showcased her exemplary skills during the visit of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to the National Republic Day Camp, performing her duties with distinction.

Furthermore, Cadet Corporal Vijaylakshmi Duggal will also participate in the prestigious “Prime Minister’s Rally,” alongside Cadet Sergeant Bhagwan Das and Cadet Sergeant Pankaj Kumar, who will represent the Directorate in the “Prime Minister’s Rally” and the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, respectively. Cadets Anshul and Sergeant Himanshu from the NCC Air Squadron, Kullu, will also be a part of the “Prime Minister’s Rally” at Cariappa Ground in Delhi.

Flying Officer Dr. Chaman expressed great pride in the achievements of these cadets, noting that the selection of seven cadets, with five from Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron, Kullu, and two from Vallabh Government College, Mandi, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the young leaders from the state.

Since 2018, over 12 cadets from the NCC Air Wing, Mandi, have represented the region at the NRDC. In addition, the cadets have also represented India in international Youth Exchange Programs in countries such as Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Russia, and Vietnam.

To express their support, the Commanding Officer of Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron NCC, Wing Commander Kunal Sharma, along with Flying Officer Dr. Chaman, Flying Officer Nishchal Sharma, and the principals of the respective schools, Professor Surina Sharma of Vallabh Government College, Mandi, and Kuldeep Guleria of DAV Centenary Public School, extended their best wishes to the cadets for their participation in the upcoming National Republic Day Camp in Delhi.

This achievement underscores the growing strength and prominence of NCC programs in the region, as these cadets set off to represent their Directorate on the national stage.
