Abhilashi University Hosts Veterinary Clinical Camp on World Veterinary Day, Reaches Dozens of Villages in Chachyot Panchayat in Mandi.
Shimla:
In celebration of World Veterinary Day 2025, Abhilashi University’s Faculty of Veterinary Sciences successfully organized a large-scale veterinary clinical camp on April 25, embodying this year’s theme: “Animal Health: A Team Effort.” The initiative extended medical services across more than 20 villages in the Chachyot Panchayat region of Mandi district, offering vital animal healthcare and awareness to local farmers and livestock owners.
The camp was inaugurated by University Vice Chancellor Prof. H.K. Chaudhary, who described the initiative as “a vibrant bridge between the community and experts.” Deans, heads of departments, and coordinators from various faculties also marked their presence. Guided by Dr. V.K. Gupta, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, the camp transformed into a community-driven movement.
The services included anti-rabies vaccination, infertility treatment for dairy animals, and general health checkups for horses, cows, and dogs. Through awareness leaflets and direct interaction, farmers were educated on preventive care, scientific livestock management, vaccination protocols, and hygiene practices. Veterinary trainees and staff played a pivotal role in delivering these services.
Further celebrations of World Veterinary Day will be held on April 26 at the university, enhancing the impact of this public outreach and healthcare initiative. Prof. Chaudhary lauded the event as “a model of collaborative leadership in animal healthcare,” while the local community warmly welcomed the open dialogue and support.
Chancellor Dr. R.K. Abhilashi, Pro-Chancellor Dr. L.K. Abhilashi, Registrar Dr. Kapil Kapoor, Genius Education Society Chairperson Dr. Narvada Abhilashi, Vice Chairperson of Abhilashi Education Society Dr. Promila Abhilashi, and Secretary Narender Kumar extended congratulations to the faculty, students, staff, and participating villagers for the successful execution of the camp.
