The United Front of Ex-Servicemen (JCOs & OR) of Himachal Pradesh has lauded the Indian Armed Forces for the precision and courage demonstrated during Operation Sindoor, a large-scale overnight airstrike that reportedly targeted and destroyed nine terrorist training camps across the border in Pakistan.

Captain Jagdish Verma (Retd), Chairman of the ex-servicemen’s wing, praised the operation as both timely and necessary. “The government and our brave forces deserve special appreciation for this decisive action,” said Capt. Verma in a press statement today in Mandi. “This operation is not only a strong military response, but also a message that India will no longer tolerate terrorism or those who shelter it.”

Referencing past terrorist attacks in Pulwama and Pahalgam, where numerous innocent civilians lost their lives, Capt. Verma said, “The brutality of these attacks demanded a response in a language that terrorists understand. Operation Sindoor delivers just that.”

He further accused Pakistan’s political establishment, military, and intelligence agency ISI of direct involvement in fomenting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. “India possesses irrefutable evidence of Pakistan’s complicity in harboring terrorist outfits. It is high time we act decisively not only against the perpetrators but against those enabling them,” he asserted.

Capt. Verma also stressed that military action should not be limited to punishing the terrorists, but should aim at liberating Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which he described as illegally held Indian territory. “Our forces must move forward to reclaim what is rightfully ours, so that Pakistan never dares to provoke unrest in Indian territory again,” he said.

Drawing parallels with historical events, Capt. Verma recalled Pakistan’s failed aggression in 1971, when it launched air attacks against India while Indian forces were aiding the Muktivahini in East Pakistan. “Just like in 1971, Pakistan is currently reeling under political, economic, and strategic turmoil. We must be prepared for any desperate act from their side, but they should remember the outcome of the past—they had to eat dust then, they will again if they repeat such mistakes.”

The strong statement from the ex-servicemen’s wing underscores growing national sentiment demanding accountability from those who fund and support cross-border terrorism. Operation Sindoor, according to defense analysts, could mark a turning point in India’s counter-terror doctrine.
