CM Orders Safe Evacuation of Himachali Students from J&K Amid Rising Tensions.

Shimla:

In response to growing concerns over the safety of Himachali students studying in Jammu & Kashmir, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh today directed the Chief Secretary to coordinate with the J&K Government for their safe evacuation.

The directive came after Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania met the Chief Minister and conveyed the deep anxiety of parents whose children are currently studying in various institutions across J&K, particularly in Srinagar. Pathania informed the CM that around 103 Himachali students are pursuing their education in the region, and their families are increasingly worried due to the prevailing tension between India and Pakistan.

Assuring swift and decisive action, the Chief Minister said the state government would leave no stone unturned in safeguarding the lives and well-being of the students. He emphasized the need for prompt and coordinated efforts to ensure their safe return home.

The Chief Secretary has been tasked with initiating immediate communication with the J&K authorities to facilitate the evacuation process.
