8th Mandi District Rifle Shooting Championship Inaugurated by DC Apoorv Devgan.

The 8th Mandi District Rifle Shooting Championship-2025 was officially inaugurated today by Apoorv Devgan, Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, at the Lakhanpal Shooting Sports Academy at Bhiuli in Mandi district. The prestigious event is being organized by the Mandi District Rifle Shooting Association (Regd.) under the aegis of the Himachal Pradesh State Rifle Association.
In a symbolic gesture marking the commencement of the championship, the Deputy Commissioner fired the ceremonial first shot. Addressing the gathering, Devgan lauded the efforts of the Association in promoting shooting sports in the district and emphasized the role of such events in honing the skills of young and aspiring shooters.
“The enthusiasm among the participants is commendable, and platforms like these are crucial for identifying and nurturing talent at the grassroots level,” he stated.
Shooters from across Mandi district are participating in the championship, which is being conducted following all standard competition norms and safety protocols. The event aims to foster healthy competition and provide exposure to budding sportspeople.
The championship will continue on May 26, 2025, culminating in a prize distribution ceremony scheduled for 4 PM the same day.
General Secretary of the Mandi District Rifle Shooting Association, Vikram Singh Rawat, expressed gratitude to all participants and dignitaries for their support. Vice-President Subhash Thakur was also present at the event, encouraging the participants and commending the organizing team’s dedication.
The event promises to be a significant step forward in strengthening the shooting sports ecosystem in Himachal Pradesh.
