Rich tributes were paid to the six-time Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, late Raja Virbhadra Singh, on his birth anniversary. Senior Congress leader and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Sohan Lal Thakur, remembered the towering statesman as the “Pride of Himachal” and the architect of modern Himachal Pradesh.

In a heartfelt statement from Sundernagar, Thakur said, “Millions of salutes to King Virbhadra Singh on his birth anniversary. With his visionary leadership, he not only brought Himachal Pradesh into the mainstream of national development but also gave a new dimension to its culture, identity, and self-confidence.”

Thakur recalled Singh’s relentless commitment to public service and development, adding, “His hard work, sensitivity towards people’s issues, and unwavering dedication will always inspire us. His legacy lives on in every corner of Himachal.”

Virbhadra Singh, fondly remembered as ‘Raja Sahib’, served as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh six times, earning widespread respect for his developmental policies and deep connection with the people. He played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s modern infrastructure and education system.

Thakur also extended his regards to the Singh family, including MP Pratibha Singh and State PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, saying they carry forward the former CM’s legacy with pride.
