PM Modi Unveils Rs. 32,800 Crore Development Projects in Thane, Boosting Urban Mobility.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several key infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 32,800 crore in Thane today, aimed at enhancing urban mobility and modernizing the region. This initiative comes as part of the government’s broader vision for a developed India, or “Viksit Bharat.”
Among the significant projects inaugurated was the Aarey to BKC section of Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase 1, which is set to revolutionize commuting in the city with its ten stations, nine of which are underground. The fully operational line is expected to serve around 12 lakh passengers daily.
Additionally, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, valued at Rs. 12,200 crore, and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar, costing Rs. 3,310 crore. These projects are designed to improve connectivity between South Mumbai and Thane, addressing the growing transportation demands of the area.
Modi also initiated the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project, with an investment of Rs. 2,550 crore, which will enhance the infrastructure around the upcoming airport. Furthermore, he announced the foundation stone for a new Thane Municipal Corporation building, aimed at centralizing municipal services.
Highlighting the importance of Maharashtra in India’s progress, Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing urban challenges and delivering modern infrastructure. He noted that the development initiatives launched today will not only reshape the transportation landscape but also create new employment opportunities.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the support from international partners, particularly mentioning Japan’s contribution to the Aqua Metro line, a testament to India-Japan friendship.
In his address, Modi reflected on the legacy of Maharashtra’s visionaries and the need for a stable and honest government to continue driving development. He criticized previous administrations for their delays and inefficiencies, asserting that the current government is focused on overcoming past challenges to build a prosperous future for Maharashtra.
Prominent figures present at the inauguration included Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.
