Yogi Adityanath Launches All India Radio’s Special FM Channel ‘Kumbhvani’ and ‘Kumbh Mangal Dhwani’ in Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh 2025.
Prayagraj:
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today inaugurated two special FM channels by All India Radio, ‘Kumbhvani’ and ‘Kumbh Mangal Dhwani,’ to provide live coverage and cultural insights during the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. The launch ceremony took place at the Circuit House in Prayagraj, with Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L. Murugan, joining virtually for the occasion.
The ‘Kumbhvani’ FM channel, broadcasting on 103.5 MHz, will be on air from 10 January to 26 February 2025, offering live commentary on the key events of the Maha Kumbh, including major bathing rituals on 14 and 29 January, and 3 February. The channel will operate daily from 5:55 AM to 10:05 PM, bringing the sights and sounds of the religious gathering to listeners worldwide.
In his address, CM Yogi Adityanath expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for launching this initiative. He emphasized that the Kumbhvani channel will allow even the most remote communities to experience the grandeur and spiritual significance of the Kumbh Mela, providing essential information to millions of devotees who may not be able to attend in person.
Dr. L. Murugan also praised the swift execution of the project, highlighting how it will help connect listeners with the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of India. He mentioned that the channel’s programming will include live reporting on the daily activities at the Kumbh site, special cultural presentations, talk shows, and health advisories, ensuring that devotees stay informed and connected.
Among the special programs to be aired are a series titled Shiva Mahima that explores India’s cultural and religious history, and the Hello Doctor program offering live health consultations. Additionally, ‘Namaskar Prayagraj’ and ‘From the Bank of Sangam’ will be aired daily, focusing on local updates and cultural narratives from the Kumbh.
In addition to live coverage, the channel will broadcast essential notices related to travel, hygiene, and safety protocols, helping pilgrims navigate the vast gathering.
The initiative aims to promote Indian cultural traditions globally, continuing the success of similar broadcasts during previous Kumbh Mela events. Kumbhvani, which was popular during the 2013 Kumbh and 2019 Ardh Kumbh, is expected to further expand its reach this year.
The launch event was attended by several prominent figures, including Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, Cabinet Ministers Swatantra Dev Singh, Nand Gopal Gupta (Nandi), Om Prakash Rajbhar, and senior officials from Prasar Bharati and All India Radio.
With this effort, All India Radio once again underscores its vital role as a public broadcaster in promoting India’s rich cultural heritage and providing valuable information to the masses.
