President of India Graces Convocation Ceremony at AIIMS Bathinda, Emphasizes Research and Compassionate Care.

The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, graced the convocation ceremony at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda, today, marking a significant moment for the institution and its graduating students.

In her address, the President highlighted the pivotal role AIIMS plays in India’s healthcare system, emphasizing that for the citizens, AIIMS symbolizes access to the best and most affordable treatment, while for students, it represents state-of-the-art facilities for higher education and research. She noted that to make world-class healthcare accessible and to advance medical research, several AIIMS institutions have been established across the country.

The President underscored that institutes like AIIMS must not only lead in providing exceptional medical treatment but also remain at the forefront of innovation and research. She expressed particular satisfaction with AIIMS Bathinda, which, with its 750-bed capacity, is catering to the healthcare needs of the region through a wide range of specialty and super-specialty departments. President Murmu urged all stakeholders to continue their efforts in transforming AIIMS Bathinda into a regional center of medical excellence, focusing on research that addresses both global and local health challenges.

Furthermore, the President spoke about the esteemed position doctors hold in Indian society, emphasizing that they must combine professional expertise with values such as compassion, kindness, and empathy. She reminded the graduating students that as medical professionals, they will often face challenging situations that will test their emotional strength.
